Georgia Department of Education to Host "Partners Educating Georgia's Future Workforce" Meetings

The Georgia Department of Education will host twelve "Partners Educating Georgia's Future Workforce" meetings around the state this fall.  Region 9 will be hosted by Toombs County at the Toombs County High School.  This event will provide a chance for business and community partners to learn more about our national, state, regional and local workforce needs.  Each county is asked to bring educators, chamber representatives, and several business and industry representatives to the meeting.  State Legislators and other dignitaries are also invited.

Assistant Secretary of Agriculture Announces $30 Million Available for Agricultural Producers and Food Entrepreneurs

FORT VALLEY, Ga, May 29, 2015 – Today at Fort Valley State University, Assistant Secretary of Agriculture Gregory Parham announced that USDA is making $30 million available to farmers, ranchers and food entrepreneurs. This funding will be made available through the Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) program in order to generate new products, create and expand marketing opportunities.
